Caillebotte: Messe Solenelle de Paques - Michel Piquemal

Michel Piquemal presents a new edition of the Mass in a version with timpani. Martial Caillebotte (1853-1910), rediscovered thanks to his passion for French music, now appears for what he truly was: a talented composer, and no longer simply the lesser-known brother of Gustave, a recognized figure of Impressionism and patron of Monet, Renoir, and Degas. These works reveal the power and richness of his sonic palette. They bear witness to the beauty of musical life in the great Parisian parishes at the end of the 19th century.
