Francesco Geminiani wrote in his 1751 treatise The Art of Violin Playing, "The Intention of Music is not only to please the Hearing, but to express the Feelings, to strike the imagination, to affect the Spirit and to command the Passions. The Opus 3 concertos abound in this sense and provide material tailored to the colorful style of the Orchester Baroque de Montréal.
