Born in Ohio in 1917 Dean Martin had a quite extraordinary career as an entertainer across acting, both serious, (with the likes of John Wayne) and comic (with Jerry Lewis) and of course as a very fine singer. Teaming up with Jerry Lewis in 1946 the pair would become massive stars of stage and films until 1956 when they had a very public falling out. Dean then went into a solo career which included both singing and acting. As a singer he would make over 100 albums in some years knocking out as many as four throughout a single year. He became a huge hit in Las Vegas and of course will always be remembered as a leading member of the Rat Pack with Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. et al.
