CHARPENTIER: Motets for Holy Week; Mass for four choirs - Jackson; Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal (HYBRID SACD)

This disc brings together the Ensemble Stradivaria, one of the most famous baroque string ensembles, the Studio de musique vieille de Montréal and the Bande Montréal Baroque in the world premiere recording of the Trois Grands Motets and the Mass for 16 voices in 4 choirs by Marc -Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704). These works have been specially prepared for the Montreal Baroque Festival by the Center de Musique Baroque de Versailles. The hybrid multi-channel SACD recording makes it possible to highlight the spatialization of these polyphonic works, including in particular the Mass with 4 choirs.
